The Keys Enlighten Programs, formerly known as A Path to Higher Consciousness (2007-2009), as well as formerly (1990-2007) the Christian Metaphysicians and Mystics Society (CMMS) and recently renamed by its founder Mary Saurer-Smith, acts as a spiritual support group for individuals who experience an ongoing sense of the divine presence within, practice abstract reasoning and apply abstract ideas to practical living, and/or have had a direct encounter with God through a vision or abstract creative ideas or a sudden influx of light producing revelation. The students discuss, study, and practice spiritual ideas, believing spiritual understanding is vital to soul evolution and that understanding emerges more rapidly through study of how the universal laws operate in the mind as well as in other fields of energy.

The minister or her appointed volunteer-assistant may distribute digital or print study guides on a weekly or per-series basis. Remote students (those who reside out of town and/or participate in group meetings via Internet interface, the telephone, email, and digital sound recordings) and absent students will have access to digital recordings of weekly meetings and digital or hard copies of study guide materials. The group convenes weekly, typically in the evening, for meditation, lectures/presentations, discussions about presented materials, and prayer.
For two weeks between each unit of study, the group will meet for meditation, discussion, and prayer to process further the completed course of study before moving on to the next educational topic; occasionally the group will meet to hear educational presentations by guest speakers. CMMS ministers and students strive to serve as an inspiration, influence, and guide to individuals who are seeking an uplifting path in their search for greater enlightenment; CMMS Deshae Lott Ministries Inc is designed explicitly for adult education related to this area of study. 100% of the minister’s work will be devoted to assisting and encouraging people in their search and discovery of greater spiritual realization through small discussion or study groups, meditation groups, and individual spiritual guidance or counseling.
